Andrew Christopher Smith is a composer living in Brooklyn, where he manages the S.E.M. Ensemble and does marketing for ISSUE Project Room. He graduated from Willamette University, where he studied English, piano and composition with John Peel & Julian Snow, and also studied composition with Donnacha Dennehy at Trinity College Dublin. His music has been played by S.E.M. Ensemble, Ostravská banda, various NY-based performers, and some college groups. He has performed as a pianist for the Incubator Arts Project and the Poetry Project at St. Mark's Church in the Bowery. He's also written some number of items for the Journal of Music.
Current projects include the Transient Series, a new series of music at Willow Place Auditorium in Brooklyn Heights, writing music, and reading.
